Handmade Inframe and Handpainted Shaker Kitchen with Cockbead - Blunham, Beds

Our clients in Blunham, Bedfordshire called us in to design them the kitchen of their dreams !! Friends of theirs nearby had recently had one of our inframe shaker kitchens made & fitted by us and they fell in love with it as soon as they saw it ! This was therefore the kitchen of choice.

The beauty of handpainted kitchens is that they can be painted in to co-ordinate with the room decor. Our clients already had a gorgeous duck egg blue & stone coloured sofa to go in the room so the blue was picked out from it and used as a colour for the island units.

This works really well & makes a real statement by adding interest. In years to come if the colour scheme is changed, the kitchen units can always be repainted. A service we also offer.

The clients are a very sociable family so the addition of a round breakfast bar with a curved pedestal provides extra seating and also adds another texture to the room by picking this out in gorgeous warm Oak.

The curved pedestal makes for great drinks storage and being within close reach to an undercounter wine cooler makes for a great entertaining space whilst keeping the main fridge free. The addition of an extra Franke ceramic undermounted sink in the island makes a great place to fill with ice to keep the bubbly cold !!

To loose the need for a kettle on the worktop, the clients opted for a Fusion Quooker all in one tap so it provides instant boiling water aswell as warm & cold. A great addition to any kitchen which we are now approved suppliers of.

Handmade Dresser

The main feature of this kitchen was the addition of a bespoke handmade dresser. This was made in the style of the kitchen but treated as an individual piece of furniture which compliments the room beautifully. The use of Quadrant Shaker end panels give the unit a luxurious feel and lifts it to another level.

Clever use of subtle cabinet lighting creates a wonderful ambience in the room whilst providing invaluable storage & display space.

The Mantle unit was designed to fit around a room column that was cructial to the structure of the house. By building shallower mantle pier units this was "lost in the room but still giving usable cupboard space perfect for spices etc.

To house an American Style Fridge Freezer, a tall housing was made providing yet more storage in the form of pull out larders on either side with a lift up top box above. Very useful and very elegant.
